Prior to the recent disclosure that Kim Kardashian had resumed occasional drinking again, she had been refraining from alcohol for a number of years.
The 42-year-old social media star confessed while speaking with Gwyneth Paltrow on the latter's Goop podcast.
"I started drinking a little bit when I was 42 years old. booze and coffee, "stated Kardashian. I simply feel like I need to let free a little. Kim was questioned by renowned actress Paltrow about her decision to alter her lifestyle.
"Because, you know, why not? I feel like I work extremely hard and concentrate all day after school, then it's product meetings, testing sessions, packaging meetings, and everything else for SKKN "She spoke.
"I just don't ever feel comfortable just laying around doing nothing. So my version of that has been to spend some time with my friends and have a drink and stay out a little bit later, when I probably wouldn't have done that before."
"It just has to be a little shot of pineapple and a shot of tequila," Kardashian said. "I have two shots and I'm like so good. It's been fun."
Formerly sober
Kardashian had hardly consumed booze in previous years due to other commitments. She occasionally drinks, but mostly abstains, a source told PEOPLE in 2018.
She occasionally might enjoy a glass of champagne on special occasions or for someone's birthday.
