When will Disney Plus begin airing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?

When will Disney Plus stream Black Panther: Wakanda Forever? Sadly, we still don't know the solution. It might, however, debut on Disney's streaming service in January 2023.

Since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's global debut on November 11 in theaters, nearly two months have gone. So it must be coming to one of the greatest streaming services soon, right?

The release schedule for Disney Plus indicates that it won't be available until January 2023. However, Marvel and Disney often reveal in a separate press release when Marvel movies will be available on streaming services. Stay tuned to TechRadar for an official announcement coming soon, in short.

We've gathered some more details about Black Panther 2's likely Disney Plus launch below if you're interested. What are you still holding out for? Get to work!

When will Black Panther 2 be available on Disney Plus?

There is no set date for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's debut on Disney Plus. Although the MCU Phase 4 movie opened in theaters in November 2022, we anticipate its release to be in January 2023. That is based on what we know about the Disney Plus releases of some of the best superhero flicks.

First off, Marvel movies don't debut on Disney's streaming service right away after they hit theaters. Each movie has a 45-day global theatrical exclusivity window. Black Panther 2 would debut on Monday, December 26 if it were to be released exactly 45 days after November 11.

Unfortunately, there won't be a launch on December 26. Disney's streaming service hasn't received any of Marvel's post-Avengers: Endgame movies thus soon after their theatrical debut. The Covid-19 pandemic made Black Widow the exception to this rule, which earned a day and date release in theaters and on Disney Plus in July 2021.

Along with the rest of Wakanda Forever's characters, Namor will shortly be on Disney Plus. (Marvel Studios credit for image.)

Additionally, Wednesdays are the day on which Disney typically releases new movies and TV episodes. When She-Hulk: Attorney at Law made its premiere on a Thursday, that momentarily altered (August 18). This was a result of the Star Wars television series Andor's weekly episode release. It's obvious that Marvel and Lucasfilm didn't want their flagship series to go up against one another for viewers on the same day.

Right, so Black Panther 2 will debut on December 28 if it follows Marvel's customary Wednesday launch for Disney Plus films. Eternals has the answer to why this is the case.

Although Eternals premiered in theaters on November 5, 2021, Disney Plus didn't begin offering it for streaming until January 12, 2022. This is due to Spider-Man: No Way Home's December 2021 co-release by Marvel and Sony Pictures. In our opinion, Marvel didn't want the release of Eternals on Disney PLus to coincide with the theatrical run of No Way Home since that would have discouraged viewers from seeing No Way Home.

Wakanda Forever has earned $789 million worldwide as of December 16 (according to Box Office Mojo(opens in new tab)), so it is not in Marvel's best interest to halt its theatrical run and delay its distribution on Disney Plus (for free, remember!) until after the Christmas season.

All things considered, Wakanda Forever won't likely be available on Disney Plus until mid-January 2023 according to Marvel.

Is there a scene during the credits for Black Panther 2?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever features the appearance of Okoye and the Dora Milaje from the shadows.

Yes, but Wakanda Forever only has one post-credits scene, not two.

This Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ending and post-credits scene explanation article explains what that mid-credits stinger signifies for the Black Panther movie series (and wider MCU). Only continue if you have watched the movie because it delves deeply into some of the most spoilery aspects of the story.

How long does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever last?

The length of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is two hours and forty-one minutes. That includes its two credits sequences and lone post-credits scene.

That makes Black Panther 2 the second-longest MCU movie of all time, which is interesting. It only lasts three hours, four minutes longer than the contentious Eternals movie, and is only topped by Avengers: Endgame.
