After her Twitter account was suspended, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is known for voicing her views, continued to do so on Instagram. The actress posted a video of Asha Bhosle talking about her older sister, the late Lata Mangeshkar, on Instagram Stories a little over an hour ago. Kangana revealed on her Instagram Story that she had been offered an absurd sum of money to perform at weddings and private parties, but she had turned it down.
Veteran performer Asha Bhosle can be heard discussing how Lata Mangeshkar opposed the practice of singing and performing at wedding receptions and parties in the flashback footage. She revealed that her older sister had previously received a million-dollar offer to perform at a wedding event. Lata, though, had turned down the offer. Asha recalled them telling her to "simply come to our wedding for 2 hours" (Kaha 2 ghante sirf aap darshan dijiye humari shadi mein).

Kangana posted a little video clip of Asha Bhosle from a reality show on her Instagram, saying, "Agree. Even if I own the most popular songs, I've never danced at weddings or private parties. I was denied an absurd amount of money. I'm pleased to have seen this movie. Lataji is incredibly inspirational."
Prior to the Grammys and Oscars, Kangana Ranaut criticized them for failing to honor Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away just days before the award shows. "We must take strong stands against any local awards who claim to be international and yet ignore and intentionally sideline legendary artists because of their race or ideologies," Kangana had written on Instagram with a call to boycott such events. "Both the Oscar and the Grammy failed to pay tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji. Our media should totally boycott these biased local events who claim to be global awards."
Speaking of work, Kangana Ranaut most recently appeared in the box office dud Dhaakad. She is presently working on Emergency, a film in which she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade, and Bhumika Chawla also play significant roles in this historical drama.
