New dating app launched in the US for Republicans

A new dating app for Republicans will soon be launched in the US. The Right Stuff is an invitation-only app exclusively for right-wing singles and will be launching in September.

It is backed by conservative tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who has invested $1.5million (£1.2million) in the app, which was developed by former Donald Trump White House staffers, The Hill reports .

Daniel Huff, who served in the Trump administration at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, told The Hill that The Right Stuff “was really never done before.”

“It’s an important, underserved market,” Huff said. “Liberals have the education, corporate media, and we can’t let them control our personal relationships.”

But soon, conservatives across the US will have a dating app just for them — and it’s not just another Tinder.

Ryann, the younger sister of former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, announced the new app in a promotional video shared on Twitter.

According to the video, dating app The Right Stuff is free to use, but women can get a premium subscription to invite a few friends over, while men have to pay.

In announcing this feature, McEnany said, “These are the only two options, by the way: ladies and gentlemen,” he later added, “no pronouns necessary.”

It currently focuses on heterosexual relationships but could be expanded in the future to facilitate same-sex relationships.

The Right Stuff will compete with broader dating apps like Tinder, Hinge and Bumble, which allow users to choose their pronouns, add their vaccination status and even personality type, dietary preference and zodiac sign.

But according to McEnany, The Right Stuff is about “getting into the right dating pool” with people who “share the same values and beliefs.”

As she demonstrated how to create a profile on the app, McEnany included a photo of herself with former US President Donald Trump, whose administration her sister worked for.

When filling out a prompt that read, “Alexa, change the…,” McEnany wrote “President.”

Other prompts include, “One random fact I love about America is…” and “Liberals’ favorite lie…”

Singles are also encouraged to post date ideas and then see if other users are interested in joining them.

In the video, McEnany apologized to potential users for her past dating experiences, saying, “We’re sorry that you’ve put up with bad dates for years and wasted time with people who don’t see the world that way — the right way.”

An ad for The Right Stuff says it was “made for conservatives to connect in an authentic and meaningful way.

“Other dating apps woke up. We bring people together with common values and similar passions.”
