The film's thrilling conclusion, however, makes it appear as though Avatar: The Way of Water may have unintentionally plagiarized one of director James Cameron's earlier works, Titanic. When it was released in 1997, Titanic swiftly surpassed the original Avatar as the highest-grossing movie of all time. Titanic tells the tale of a fictitious love triangle against the backdrop of a real-life historical shipwreck. There's no doubt that some of Cameron's earlier works will be present in Avatar: The Way of Water, but it's unclear whether the film's conclusion is only an homage to the Titanic or a direct copy.
The eagerly anticipated Avatar: The Way of Water is the follow-up to 2009's Avatar, the box office sensation that launched James Cameron's most lucrative franchise. Jake Sully and his family leave the Omatikaya clan in the sequel, which is set several years after the first movie, after Colonel Quaritch's reincarnated avatar comes to Pandora. In their eastward retreat, the fleeing Na'vi bump into the seafaring Metkayina clan and come across a variety of new wonders like the whale-like Tulkun as well as new perils like the RDA's Tulkun hunters.
The Titanic and Avatar: Similarities and Dissimilarities
The thrilling ocean fight that concludes Avatar: The Way of Water's third act features the Na'vi attacking the RDA ship that Col. Quaritch is imprisoning many of Jake Sully's children on utilizing a variety of water creatures. As a violent battle between Jake, Neytiri, and Quaritch continues, the ship's various sections explode, signaling the beginning of the battle's dramatic finish. It's nearly impossible to avoid thinking about James Cameron's Titanic, which ends almost exactly the same way, when a James Cameron movie ends with a character drama taking place as a ship sinks.

Avatar: The Way of Water also makes some decisions that are remarkably comparable to those in the Leonardo DiCaprio-led movie Titanic, despite the fact that the film's finale's premise is remarkably similar to Titanic. Neytiri and Tuk can be seen at one point rushing through the ship's corridors as water splashes in, with the scene being shot in a manner reminiscent of Titanic. Avatar: The Way of Water and Titanic have a lot in common, despite the fact that they portray completely distinct storylines.
James Cameron Reproduced Other Works Besides Titanic
Although James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water contains numerous parallels to other movies, Titanic is by far the most obvious. The final combat is similar to the one in Terminator 2, with the two opponents employing chains and other metal objects to fight against a backdrop of flaming steel. Col. Quaritch, the movie's antagonist, is so nearly unbeatable that he resembles the Terminator himself. His sole objective is to kill Jake Sully.
The RDA's enormous mech suits are comparable to those that Ripley wears in the sequel, which also parodies another well-known sequel, Aliens. Even The Abyss aspects are used; the movie is renowned for its aquatic setting and ground-breaking water effects. James Cameron's earlier movies are honored in Avatar: The Way of Water, which makes references to several of his best films, including Titanic.
