Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, is rumoured to be shelling out $6.5billion in order to purchase WWE.
Over the past few days, rumours began circulating that the WWE, established by Capitol Wrestling Corporation in the 50s, was going bankrupt and that the higher ups were planning to sell it off.
Initially it was speculated that someone from Saudi Arabia was to make the purchase however Dwayne has recently been named as the contender to make the purchase.
However, that has yet to be confirmed as the actor sat down with CNBC and cryptically said: "I used to have this mentality… that, 'Well, my plate is full. However, I’m going to make room for [more]' — and I would find a way to do that."
A previous interview showed The Rock reflecting on the tough time that the company was going through.
"The fan base is very large and very passionate, and there’s nothing like the WWE. So, I think with the new owners, if there are new owners and acquirers that are gonna come in, I think they have to share that same passion for the company and for the world of pro wrestling, which isn’t always easy to do."
