Margot Robbie has revealed a shocking secret behind her nude scenes on the set of her hit movie 'The Wolf of Wall Street' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The actress said there was a whole room full of 'merkin' (genital wigs).
The experience set her up for future roles, though. Robbie claimed to feel comfortable filming erotic scenes for her new movie 'Babylon' because she already did full nude scenes in her 2013 role.
"You get desensitised so fast. It felt like a lifetime and also like a distant hazy memory," she told Nova's Fitzy and Wippa.
"They have things called merkins, which is like a wig that's for genitalia. I remember for Wolf of Wall Street, there was an entire merkin room.
"I guess people would go in and pick one out. It was fascinating."
Mind you, her nudity with DiCaprio is totally real, as she herself confirmed in an interview.
"I'm not going to lie, I had a couple of shots of tequila before that scene because I was nervous... very, very nervous,"
The Australian actress also spoke about the strange nickname by which some of her friends know her: 'Maggot'. During an appearance on 'The Project' to promote 'Babylon', the actress explained that this was due to an accident she suffered in school.
"That's been my nickname since I was six years old," said Robbie.
"I think a substitute teacher made a mistake on the roll call and said "maggot" and everyone laughed," she continued.
"You can't pick a nickname. You get given it."
