Chiara Ferragni

Influencer and model Chiara Ferragni caused quite a stir with her daring attire... she wore several looks with different undertones at the first performance of the Sanremo festival. Especially because no one could have imagined her presence in such an outfit.

The first thing she did was to show a white scarf with the message "Think freely" embroidered in black on the back. She explained on her Instagram account that this look has been dubbed the "manifesto dress" and was inspired by an artist's intervention under the pseudonym Claire Fontaine.

"When we started thinking about the outfits for the two nights of Sanremo, we immediately understood that we didn't want clothes just because they were eccentric or pretentiously beautiful, but we felt the need to bring a social message to Italy's most popular stage through fashion," she said.

Her stylist Fabio Maria da Mato, explained that they were inspired by Chiuri's spring/summer 2018 dress for Dior as well as various images and paintings from the biblical story of Eve.

"The flesh-colored tulle dress reproduces with a trompe l'oeil embroidery Chiara Ferragni's body naturally and liberated from the shame that has always been imposed on everyone, starting with Eve, the first woman in history induced to feel shame," De Mato claimed.

But things went on and the most shocking part was about to come. The influencer wore a mesh dress with gold-toned rhinestones that emulated a naked woman's body, which she christened the "shameless dress".

With it she made a plea for women's freedom, saying that "if you hide it, you are a nun, if you show it, you are a slut". In addition, she read a manifesto in which she claimed that women's bodies should not mean "hatred or shame" and which she dedicated to her one-year-old daughter Vittoria.
