After abandoning "Wonder Woman 3" and Henry Cavill as Superman, Gunn and Peter Safran have come under fire.
After he and Peter Safran abandoned plans for "Wonder Woman 3" earlier this month, director James Gunn recently defined Gal Gadot's present status inside the DC Universe.
Gunn and Safran, the new co-chairmen of DC Studios, have recently changed their minds about plans for the DC film series. These changes include abandoning plans for Henry Cavill to reprise his role as Superman and a third Wonder Woman film under the direction of Patty Jenkins.
Many fans have conjectured that Gadot and Cavill were cut from any potential DC storylines as a result of their selections. Gunn did, however, briefly address this issue this week on social media.
One fan complained about the current controversies to Gunn on Monday, saying that "the move to boot Cavill and Gadot" did not "inspire confidence" for future DC movies.
I'm not sure where you're getting that we "booted" Gal, the 56-year-old retorted. As opposed to Cavill, some fans have speculated that Gadot would play the part again soon.
Before "Gadot had expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to play such an amazing, legendary role on social media after "Wonder Woman 3" was shelved. She added, "I've been so grateful for YOU. the admirers The most incredible, kind, and kind supporters ever. I continue to pinch myself in hopes of waking up."
In recent days, Gunn and Safran have received a great deal of criticism from fans on the previous DC Universe.
As the heads of DC Studios, Peter and I were aware of a small percentage of online users who could be, well, raucous & cruel, to put it mildly, Gunn remarked on Twitter on Monday. "To be honest, we've experienced far worse. Nobody likes to be bothered or called names. Disrespectful protest will never, ever change how we behave."
All decisions are "based upon what we believe is best for the tale," he said in his conclusion.
