In the 2007 film Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika made her acting debut. One of Deepika's first commercials was for a toothpaste company. She performed a dance routine in the bathroom for the Close-Up toothpaste commercial from 2004. Over the following few years, Deepika Padukone gained notoriety for her TV ads for companies like Limca in addition to walking the runway at fashion events for some of the biggest designers in the nation. In a Limca commercial, the actor could be seen leaping in dirty water puddles on the road and dancing in the rain. For practically all of the commercial, she sipped from a bottle of Limca.
