Myke Wright, Lizzo's boyfriend, who is he?

We'll never forget when self-love queen Lizzo married herself in her hit 2017 "Truth Hurts" music video. Now, she's opting to share her affection with a special someone—and, naturally, we have questions.

The rapper confirmed that she is officially off the dating market in an April 18 interview with Andy Cohen, during which she said she is indeed dating Myke Wright, the mystery man she was spotted out with on Valentine's Day.

Though Lizzo remains private about their romance, she has made it clear that things between them are serious. When asked by Cohen whether dating him while juggling her fame and career has been a challenge, she responded, "If you have the right person, no. Not at all. It's not even a factor. Because it should be mutually supportive, no matter what that person does."

For a "single-minded individual" in love with her independence and personal freedom, the rapper's new relationship must, indeed, reflect something special.

As this love continues to bloom, see everything documented so far about Lizzo's new boyfriend and their romance below.

Who is Myke Wright?

Wright is an actor and comedian. He has played a few small roles in shows including Breaking & Entering, How to Be A Grown Up, and Doubting Thomas, and in 2019 appeared in the short film Tell Me What You Know About Cyrus.

In a July interview with The Breakfast Club, Lizzo—whose real name is Melissa Jefferson—revealed that she and Wright have known each other since before she garnered international fame with her album Cuz I Love You in 2019. She also mentioned Wright as one of the "genuine people" in her life.

"I have the most genuine people around me," she said. "They don't give a s--t about 'Lizzo' with the chain on. They care about 'Melissa,' and everyone I'm close with has known me before all of this happened and I think that's important."

She continued, "Even the man I'm with, he knew me before all of this too. We were friends. It hit different when they knew you before 2019."

In a December 2022 interview on The Howard Stern Show, Lizzo spoke candidly about how her romance with Wright has taken a serious turn.

"We're not playing any games with each other anymore. We're very much locked in," she told Stern.

She recalled feeling sparks fly when she first met Wright back in 2016, though she says she wasn't quite ready for the commitment then. "I had a lot of shit to do, and I still was very much in my 'I feel un-loveable' place, and I still was very much not where I wanted to be career-wise," she said. "Even if a person came around that I was googly gaga about, I had these wild defenses up that made it almost impossible for a true, intimate relationship to occur."

Eventually, "when the time was right," the couple reunited.

"This is official," she said. "There's nobody else I'm going to be with for the rest of my life."

They were first seen together last October at Crustacean Beverly Hills, People reported.

In an outing that first spurred their dating rumors, the two dined at Craig's in West Hollywood for Valentine's Day. "You were photographed in Los Angeles in February at Craig's with a mystery man. Are you guys still together?" Cohen bluntly asks the singer in their April interview. "Yeah, whatever," Lizzo responds, laughing. "Yeah."

Lizzo confirmed to Andy Cohen during their interview that Wright came to support her in person while she hosted Saturday Night Live on April 16.

On Tuesday, April 26, Lizzo and her man were spotted out at Craig's in West Hollywood—the same restaurant they went to on Valentine's Day—to celebrate the singer's upcoming 34th birthday on April 27.

For the romantic dinner date, Lizzo wore a black slip dress with purple feathers and bejeweled flowers. She accessorized with sparkly pointed-toe bow-tie heels and a pair of oversized sunglasses, which featured her coined phrase—"That Bitch"—across the lenses. Her beau beamed beside her in an all-black look complete with matching dark shades.

Wright supported his famous girlfriend at the screening of her Prime Video series Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. The two walked the red carpet together in monochrome looks: Wright in an all-black suit and Lizzo in a hot pink Valentino ensemble.

Lizzo posted Wright on her main feed for the first time, in a series of cute pics taken on the night of Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala. In the pics, the couple smile as they hold each other while wearing glam evening looks: Wright in a black tuxedo and vest, and Lizzo in a fringe minidress by Alexander McQueen.
